Hey Book Dragon,

Laureli Peters loves writing high risk fantasy for

kids who wonder what it would be like if a dragon became a librarian. As a young book dragon, she fell in love with storytelling and history in the same afternoon

when she saw a documentary on Ancient

Egypt. After digging several muddy holes in

her grandmother's backyard, her shovel and

pail were replaced with a pencil and notepad.

It is still debatable as to whether this was to spur

Laureli's passion or to save her grandmother's roses. Regardless, Laureli began to create fantastical worlds both real and imaginary.

 As an adult book dragon, she holds a B.S. in Creative Writing from Liberty University and a member of SCBWI. She is also a member of several writing groups who she considers her second family. But her favorite dot on her resume is the thirteen years she spent writing scripts and teaching about Jesus to elementary age book dragons every Sunday.

 

And in case you are wondering, yes, Laureli is a Christian but her writing is more Christian adjacent. More Lord of the Rings less Chronicles of Narnia. Though she will happily talk about either or really any book for hours, especially if dragons are involved.

When she is not writing or teaching her two book dragons how to clean unicorn snot off the walls, Laureli finds adventure and inspiration alongside her flyboy husband, her two amazing book dragons and her favorite pup, Sam.

She is currently querying agents for representation of her middle grade fantasy The Book Dragon.
